We took a Duck Tour. A "Duck" is 1/2 truck-1/2 boat amphibious vehicle. Originally designed for WWII, the projects code name was "DUKW". Our Duck was Beantown Betty , one of the restored original "DUKW"s. Our guide was very knowledgeable, drove pretty quickly & threw out information and random facts about Boston faster than I could process them. The one I remember was that Boston originally was only 1.5 sq. miles. As time progressed, the marshes around the area began to be filled in by the people and it now is 48 sq. miles.
